JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Salary Grade Range as of October 1, 2025: $45,106 - $67,659
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs accounts receivable functions, generates statistical reports, and performs other Finance Department functions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Generates invoices for billing of airlines, tenants, car rentals, concessionaires, and others.
Posts cash received from tenants, non-tenants, PFC's and daily mailbox and ACH deposits. Prepares a deposit slip at least once a month for all cash received and Canadian checks at the local branch. Deposits all checks via scanner for Operating, PFC and USS accounts. Contacts individuals to resolve discrepancies when needed.
Monitors Authorize.net software and balances monthly for all credit card payments.
Monitors all Fee Abatement Flights to generate credit memos.
Reconciles all bank accounts monthly.
Monitors all accounts receivable accounts through the accounting software and prepares monthly reports.
Research and compiles information for landing fees, market share, passenger utilization, concession reports, activity, and accounts receivable reports for review by the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, or designee. Distributes reports to appropriate personnel in accordance with a predetermined schedule.
Maintains and reconciles certain asset accounts monthly. Generates recurring and other journal entries.
Maintains tenant billing module which includes adding customers and assigning and setting up revenue codes.
Upload invoices into Coupa and Invoice Works for Airline Tenants.
Monitors, sends delinquency reports to Properties Department for all tenants. Responsible for sending letters to all non-tenants.
Creates and maintains reports.
Prepares and transmits sales tax reports to Manatee and Sarasota Counties.
Other job Responsibilities:
Assists Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer to compile information for budget and annual audit.
Scans all accounts receivable related files and documents into Laserfiche.
Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Where "preferred" is indicated, the qualification is not essential.
Education and Experience:
Three years accounting experience.
Two years college degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis for experience.
Excel proficiency as demonstrated by the ability to pass an Excel test.
Licenses and Certifications:
None.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general accounting and computer operations.
Knowledge of Airport operations and services, preferred.
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, FAA rules and regulations, and airport policies relating to financial management, accounting, and grant administration, preferred.
Ability to research documents and makes recommendations.
Ability to analyze data.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow employees, and the general public.
Physical Requirements:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist must be diligent in adhering to all work-related safety rules, procedures and regulations and take the precautions necessary to comply with the Airport Authority safety policy.
Mental Requirements:
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, the employee must have the mental capacity to provide support to all departments; must be capable of successfully interacting with employees, outside agencies and the general public; develop and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow employees, outside agencies and the general public and have the mental capacity to provide support to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.
Environmental Requirements:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist generally works in an office environment.
